The Dinner That Suddenly Went Silent
I was about six years old when it happened.
Our entire family had gathered around the dinner table. Plates clinked, conversations overlapped, and the room buzzed with the kind of warmth only a big family dinner can create.
Then, right in the middle of all that chatter, I suddenly spoke up.
“Grandma! Should I tell everyone what you and Grandpa do when you’re both in your room?”
The effect was instant.
The entire table went silent.
A Suspense No One Expected
Grandma froze with her spoon halfway to her mouth.
Grandpa slowly turned toward me, his eyes suddenly wide with concern.
Around the table, adults exchanged awkward glances. Someone coughed. Someone else shifted in their seat.
But I had no idea why everyone suddenly looked so tense.
To me, this was exciting news.
Something special I had discovered.
And I was about to share it with the whole family.
